We have a lot of exciting developments, including the upcoming TBC event, a new member joining the Shadowbase Team a few months ago, and several recent publications and events.
I hope to see you next week at the TBC!
In case you missed our introduction, we are thrilled to have Jonathan Sechrist join the Shadowbase Business Development Team. Jonathan has an extensive history with HPE NonStop servers, starting with Tandem in 1984.
Even after only a few short months, Jonathan has already made a measurable impact. With his experience and passion for continuous customer support and product quality improvement, we look forward to continuing to work with Jonathan. Stop by our booth at the TBC to say hi!
This past September, we attended and presented at the Canadian Tandem User Group Conference and Education Day.
We enjoyed several different presentations on the Conference Day. Justin Simonds, HPE Master Technologist, presented Anti-Money Laundering and Know your Client, and Keith Moore, HPE Distinguished Technologist, presented Everything New in 2022, NonStop Technology. Later in the day, we presented HPE Shadowbase Product News.
On the Education Day, we presented on Validation Architectures for Mission Critical Systems, a new solution to ensure data integrity that Gravic is building in conjunction with Gravic Labs, Shadowbase Software, and Remark Software.
In our published white paper, The Better Backup Method, we discuss online backup of an active database via the traditional backup method.
Since there is a growing need for an economic and efficient way to back up very large-scale databases, many companies are returning to physical tape to fill this need.
However, the better backup method significantly and efficiently uses backup media and backup/restore processing to improve current techniques, providing performance and efficiency improvements.
This newly published video provides a diverse set of data management solutions to manage, monitor, and control Shadowbase environments, such as: SAL, SAR, SBDDLUTL, SBCREATP, UNDO & REDO, DCR, ETL, and SBMAP.
Note that this list is not exhaustive; we are constantly adding new solutions, tools, and utilities to this bundle.
Access to data is required 24×7 and requirements change over time, meaning solutions that met yesterday’s needs often may not meet today’s needs.
As the enterprise evolves, implementing new solutions (such as performing migrations) must be carefully planned and tested before implementation.
Please visit our reformatted and enhanced Performance FAQ page. We created several different sections for shareability and ease of use:
In late June, we attended and presented at HPE Discover 2022 at the Venetian in Las Vegas.
We presented on New Data Integrity Architectures for Mission Critical Systems at the Connect Tech Forum.
The Connect booth invited Michael’s Angel Paws, a non-profit that hosted several adorable dogs and attracted quite a few attendees.
In early June, we visited London, a beautiful host city for the BITUG Big SIG.
Attendees enjoyed Neil Davis’s State of the Nation, where he gave an excellent business summary of HPE NonStop and its recent growth, and also shared the floor with Ben Locke, an HPE intern.
Collin Yates and Mani Rajesh of TCM presented Shadowbase Migration for a Central Bank, a BASE24™ migration use case. Later in the event, Paul Holenstein, Gravic EVP, presented HPE Shadowbase Product News.
