HPE Successfully Launches NS5 and NS9, codename “Starship”

Casey Taylor announces the release of the Starship platform, marking a new era for HPE NonStop. As covered in a recent article on Yahoo Finance, “Hewlett Packard Enterprise announced two additions to its line of fault-tolerant HPE Nonstop Compute solutions, offering enterprises more power, flexibility and reliability for vital business applications. Optimized for extremely high levels of availability, the entry-class HPE Nonstop Compute NS5 X5 and flagship HPE Nonstop Compute NS9 X5, are part of a portfolio of solutions that are ideal for vital enterprise operations like payment processing, fraud detection and smart manufacturing execution systems, MES.”

We congratulate HPE on this milestone event!

Paul Holenstein co-led the advanced training session, Mastering DORA Immutability Compliance for HPE NonStop Systems: A Comprehensive Guide

This in-depth course examined the new DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act) immutability requirements and demonstrated how ETI-NET BackBox and Gravic Shadowbase Q-Files can work together to create immutable, recoverable backups for NonStop environments. Attendees explored how these requirements impact compliance strategy, learned best practices for creating and managing immutable backup versions, and gained insights into avoiding common compliance pitfalls.

Ken Scudder presented the plenary session, HPE Shadowbase Solutions for High Availability and Digital Resilience

This year’s critical industry themes for us included Business Continuity, Data and Application Integration, Data Validation, and Digital Resilience for Data Recovery. We presented on HPE Shadowbase Digital Resilience for HPE NonStop Systems and invited several guest speakers to the stage, including René Wogg from CSX software, Daniel Craig from TCM, and Kevin Poultney from Brightstrand International, to discuss our key partnerships and areas. Also in the plenary session, Gravic was pleased to award Rick Stather of TCM Solutions our HPE Shadowbase Hall of Fame Award for Project Excellence!

Paden Holenstein presented HPE Shadowbase Digital Resilience for Ransomware Protection and Data Recovery

With malware and ransomware threats escalating, data reliability and recovery have become urgent business imperatives. On Thursday, Paden addressed how regulatory mandates, such as the EU’s Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), are reshaping compliance expectations, plus new data recovery architectures and strategies for compliance.

Wednesday Night’s Gala Dinner

ETI-NET sponsored the Gala dinner on Wednesday night. It offered memorable Irish tunes by The Merry Ploughboys and Irish dancing. While attendees were tired from a busy day, many were ecstatic they stayed, with some claiming, “This was the best show experience I’ve seen in over two decades.” We express our gratitude to ETI-NET for sponsoring and organizing the dinner – it will go down in NonStop history as one of the better ones in recent decades.

The Merry Ploughboys in action!

We look forward to future gatherings that promise to bring us all together again.

A big thank you to the customers, vendors, and, of course, the eBITUG committee, including John Bycroft, Kevin Poultney, Paul Brown, Damian Ward, Rob Waldron, Collin Yates, and Andrew Pickles, for organizing and making the event such a success.
