Shadowbase ITL (Integration Team Lead) Group Provides Continuous Customer Support During the Pandemic

We are living through a pandemic that has shifted social structure, the way we work, and daily routines. For the Integration Team Leader (ITL) group, traveling to give on-site training or provide support for production “go-lives” is a primary task that has been halted by the pandemic. But despite this impediment to normal operations, the ITL group has managed to work around this challenge and remains as busy as ever. The past few months have been filled with a lot of remote training and preparing our customers for production roll-outs. Almost all of the customer projects that were active at the time of the sudden social distancing remain on track. Beyond the ITL team staying the course during a work-from-home situation, credit must also be given to the Shadowbase customers who are working through problems, such as delayed server shipments and managing new server installations or replication installations while working from home themselves.


Some recently completed projects and current projects include:

The customer was replicating its Enscribe and SQL/MP database along NSK->NSK for its business continuity and NSK->Windows for data integration. The OGG configuration included OGG user exits and Conversion Functions, which is a script-based mapping tool. The existing environment was successfully replaced with Shadowbase replication, user exits, and the Shadowbase data transformation utility (SBMAP).

An RDF replacement and hardware refresh with HPE Shadowbase Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM)

The customer was replicating its SQL/MP and Enscribe database with RDF, and utilized Shadowbase ZDM to migrate to its new systems via Shadowbase ZDM and to replace RDF as the replication engine on its new systems.


TrainingSeveral concurrently running training exercises created 18-hour work days

Fortunately, GoToMeeting is a wonderful product that permits us to present intimate, user-based training exercises complete with lab exercises performed by the students on their own servers. Sample coursework: basic and advanced business continuity training for Scandinavia during the early morning hours, basic business continuity and data integration training for the Midwest United States during the day, and then dedicated sessions for our customers in the Far East during the evenings.

We are performing more replication product migrations for BASE24 support than any other financial application environment. Shadowbase software is frequently utilized to migrate customers from existing NonStop Itanium class servers onto new NonStop X class servers.


HPE Shadowbase solutions available for replacing remote data access/connections

EOSL ReplacementSeveral customers recently approached us looking for solutions to their remote data access/connection requirements. Shadowbase uses a data replication/data integration architecture to meet these needs, and has experience successfully deploying these solutions at a number of customer sites. The following Shadowbase architectures are popular and have significant advantages over alternative architectures.

Implementing these Shadowbase solutions is also very straight-forward, regardless if the data is being replicated NonStop/NonStop, NonStop to/from some other platform, etc. Powerful Shadowbase utilities aid in the data format/schema conversions, for data cleansing, transformation, and filtering.
