HPE Shadowbase Compare validates that two HPE NonStop databases match, and highlights any differences found by creating a summary or detailed report. Shadowbase Compare works with: SQL/MP, SQL/MX, Enscribe, and OSS Regular files, and is recommended for every NonStop business continuity environment to be absolutely certain that a replication environment is configured and running correctly. It proves that the source and target database copies are consistent and helps satisfy regulatory and audit requirements for data verification. The paper also includes the results of our webinar survey, “To Compare or Not to Compare,” taken with participants from various enterprises. Please enjoy our newly released video on Shadowbase Data and Application Integration. We soon will be adding subtitles. We hope that you find it interesting and informative! Please share it with your colleagues!
Gravic published the article, Data Replication and Integration — Applications in Financial Services in the May/June edition of The Connection. This case study explains how a merchant provider gradually expanded its data replication and integration software to add new capabilities and features to its financial switch. The company used HPE Shadowbase data replication to provide active/passive business continuity to its card management (CMA) system, and active/active business continuity to its multi-node switch. It also integrated the switch with a remote heterogeneous application for a fraud detection system, and added data validation and consistency checks to confirm that all data was synchronized. A second case study reviews how a financial institution used HPE Shadowbase Compare in multiple parallel comparison operations – each against a distinct subset of the database – to dramatically shorten the time required to fully validate its massive backup database.
Gravic published the cover story, Shadowbase Software: Synchronous Replication, in the March/April edition of The Connection. Jonathan Ziegler, Gravic’s Senior Manager of Product Development for the Shadowbase Products Group, discusses Shadowbase software synchronous data replication for Zero Data Loss (ZDL), as well as the business continuity continuum. Data loss is one of the main issues whenever an unplanned outage of an IT service occurs.
Enhancing asynchronous replication, Shadowbase ZDL uses a patented method of synchronous replication, which eliminates the possibility of data loss caused by a disaster – potentially saving a business a huge expense, preserving lives, upholding its reputation, preventing lawsuits, and satisfying zero data loss regulatory requirements. Jonathan explains how he and the entire Gravic team are working to overcome the challenges involved with such important technology to avoid the significant costs from data loss!
They cover a range of topics including: four on Zero Downtime Migrations, and one each on Shadowbase Utilities, Compare and Repair Data, Business Continuity, and Application Integration. We thank our customers, partners, and internal teams on all of their efforts in completing these successful implementation projects!
Shadowbase performance-related questions and answers for our customers and partners. We expect this information to evolve over time and encourage users to submit questions.
Numerous obstacles and challenges of switching are discussed, as well as the methods and architectures of migrating, and several important HPE Shadowbase solution features.
TIC Software, a Gravic partner, specializes in providing consulting services and add-on products for special custom logic in data transformation to ensure that Shadowbase users optimize their user exit code performance.
At the annual SunTUG Sunshine Summit in Tampa, we met with HPE personnel, talked with local HPE NonStop users, learned of other vendor news, and presented HPE Shadowbase Product Updates. We discussed recent HPE Shadowbase data replication releases, including enhanced support for audited and non-audited NonStop data replication, the HPE Shadowbase Compare/Repair solution (including support for OSS Regular Files), a new SQL/MP DDL Command Replication utility, and additional features simplifying migration to HPE Shadowbase software. We also covered the new HPE Shadowbase Zero Data Loss ECD Program and reviewed new mission-critical enterprise use case scenarios.
